What is PLA Matte filament?
PLA Matte is a PLA-based filament formulated for a soft, low-gloss surface. It cuts the shiny, plastic look of standard PLA and makes layer lines far less noticeable, which is why it's a favorite for display pieces. How is PLA Matte different from standard PLA?
Standard PLA prints a smoother, slightly glossier surface. PLA Matte gives a softer, non-reflective finish that suits display models, figurines, décor, architectural models, and visual prototypes. Is Filazoo PLA Matte easy to print?
Yes. PLA Matte is designed for approachable printing: stable feeding, consistent extrusion, good first-layer adhesion, and minimal warping once your settings are calibrated. If you haven't calibrated yet, start with a 3DBenchy and a temperature tower.
What nozzle temperature should I use?

What bed temperature should I use?

What printing speed should I use?
Start at 60–100 mm/s for reliable results. A compatible high-speed printer can go faster once nozzle temperature, flow rate, cooling, and acceleration are calibrated — start with a calibration print rather than raising the speed blind.
Does PLA Matte completely hide layer lines?
No filament removes layer lines entirely, but a low-gloss surface scatters light instead of reflecting it, so the lines read as much softer. Layer height, nozzle size, part orientation, temperature, and speed all still matter — what a calibration print tells you is the quickest way to dial those in.
Does PLA Matte require an enclosure?
No. PLA Matte prints well in the open; good ventilation and effective part cooling are what matter. Enclosures are for materials that shrink hard as they cool — warping 101 explains which ones actually need one.
Can I use PLA Matte for outdoor or heat-resistant parts?

Can PLA Matte prints be sanded or painted?
Yes. PLA Matte sands, primes, and paints well, and its non-reflective surface makes filler and primer coats easier to judge. How should I store an opened spool?

How can I tell if the filament has absorbed moisture?
Popping sounds, heavy stringing, bubbles, unstable extrusion, or a rough surface all point to moisture.
