No. PLA Basic prints fine on an unheated bed with a glue stick or similar adhesive for grip. If your printer has a heated bed, set it to 50–60°C and you won't need glue at all. Rarely. PLA Basic is formulated for low shrinkage (0.3–0.5%), so warping and cracking stay minimal even on larger prints, and no enclosure is needed. PLA itself is a food-safe base material, but we don't recommend printing tableware or anything for direct food contact. Coloring additives and nozzle contamination during printing can introduce non-food-safe elements, and layer lines trap bacteria. Damp filament is the most common cause of stringing, popping, and brittle prints. Dry the spool at 45–50°C for 4–6 hours in a filament dryer, then let it cool before loading.
