Does Filazoo Wood PLA contain real wood?
Yes — 10% real wood powder blended with PLA, which is what gives it the natural texture and matte appearance. That fill also changes how it extrudes and sands: how Wood PLA and Marble PLA print differently from standard PLA covers what to expect from your first spool.
Does the finished model feel exactly like solid wood?
No. The wood powder gives a genuinely wood-like look and feel, but the part is a PLA composite, not solid timber — it won't take a screw or a joint the way wood does. Our guide to filled filaments explains where the resemblance ends.
Do I need a special nozzle?

Why is my nozzle clogging?

Can Wood PLA be sanded?
Yes, and it's one of the best things about it — sanding smooths layer lines and gives a genuinely crafted, timber-like finish. Wear a dust mask and eye protection; wood-filled dust is finer than plain PLA swarf. See our guide to filled filaments for finishing tips.
Can it be stained like wood?
Yes. Wood stain shifts the shade and brings out surface detail, which is exactly how you get a print to read as real timber. Test on a small printed sample first — absorption varies with print settings and surface finish.
Can I paint the finished model?
Yes. Light sanding and a compatible primer improve paint adhesion, and acrylics suit most decorative projects. For finished gift pieces, holiday ornaments and gift prints has projects that work well in a wood finish.
Can it be sealed?
Yes. A compatible matte, satin, or gloss clear coat protects the surface and changes the final look — matte keeps the raw timber feel, gloss reads more like varnished wood. Test on a sample before coating a finished model.
Is it suitable for functional parts?
For light-duty objects, yes — but it's built for decorative and artistic work rather than highly loaded mechanical parts. Filled filaments trade some strength for their finish. Can I use a 0.4 mm nozzle?

Wasn't expecting it, but this filament actually gives off a faint wood-like smell while printing, which was a fun surprise. The Cherry color has a nice reddish-brown tone once it cools, and the finished parts feel a bit more substantial than standard PLA. Just remember to use a hardened steel nozzle since the wood particles will wear down a brass one over time.
Printed a set of coasters and a small planter with the Walnut color and I'm really happy with how they turned out. The surface has a subtle grain texture that looks great unsanded, and with a light sanding it looks even more like real wood. Printed clean at 200C with a hardened nozzle, no clogging issues at all.
Love this filament, the grain effect looked amazing on an elephant model I printed. Really adds character compared to a plain solid color.
Arrived right on time and was packaged well. Haven't printed a large model yet, but a couple of the 3D printing groups I'm in say this is one of the better wood-fill filaments out there, and the grain pattern on my test print looked great.
Decent filament. Works perfectly fine in my P2S printer. Worth it if you want a natural wood look without buying real wood filament from a pricier brand.
The filament works very well, and I was surprised after printing how much the wood tone warmed up. The Yellow Oak color looked a lot richer once it was actually printed than it did on the spool.
One roll of Cherry wood-fill filament. Color matches the listing photos closely and it prints well on my Bambu printer.
Not a fan of how this printed for me. Being a wood-composite it seems to be more abrasive than standard PLA, and I started noticing under-extrusion and thin walls partway through the spool, likely from nozzle wear on my stock brass nozzle. Should have used a hardened steel nozzle from the start. Wish that was made clearer on the listing.

This one was brought straight into the house and kept out of the rain, which turned out to matter since wood-fill filament is noticeably more moisture sensitive than regular PLA. Once dried properly it printed beautifully with a nice natural finish.
