How Filazoo's Seasonal Color Drops Work (and How to Get Early Access)

We don't dump every new color into the catalog at once. New colorways launch in smaller seasonal drops instead — and if you're on our email list or signed into your account, you get a head start before anyone else can buy.

Why Drops Instead of One Big Dump

Filament colors go in and out of favor with the seasons, and a giant once-a-year color release makes it hard to give any single new colorway real attention. Smaller, more frequent drops keep the catalog feeling fresh and let us focus on a handful of new colors at a time instead of burying them in a long list. It also fits how we think about the brand — a lot of variety, but never just noise for its own sake.

How Early Access Works

1. Sign up for the Filazoo newsletter or make sure you're signed into your account — either one qualifies you for early access.
2. When a new drop is ready, subscribers and account holders get a 48-hour early-access window before the colors go live sitewide to everyone else.
3. Once the 48 hours are up, the drop opens to the general public and shows up in normal collection browsing like any other product.

There's no extra step beyond being subscribed or logged in — we email early-access subscribers directly when a drop is about to open, so you don't have to keep refreshing the site to catch it.

What's Typically in a Drop

Drops tend to focus on our more visually distinctive colorways — the ones where color and finish are the whole point of choosing that spool. Recent and recurring drop categories include:

• PLA Translucent Gradient — a soft color-to-color fade with a translucent base.
• Rainbow PETG — the same multicolor effect with PETG's added durability and outdoor tolerance.
• Metallic PETG — a subtle metallic sheen that reads differently under different lighting.

We don't publish a fixed drop calendar with specific future dates, since drop timing depends on production and testing — but subscribers always hear first, whenever the next one lands.

A Note on Timing

We're keeping this page general on purpose rather than promising a specific "next drop" date that might shift. The reliable part of the system is the early-access window itself: whenever a new drop is ready, subscribers and account holders get 48 hours before it opens to everyone else. That part doesn't change.

Why We Don't Rush Colors to Market

Every new colorway goes through print testing before it's added to a drop — checking that the pigment or additive doesn't affect flow consistency, layer adhesion, or the temperature range we publish on the spool. That testing step is part of why drops come in batches instead of a constant trickle of new SKUs; it's easier to hold a group of colors to the same quality bar than to greenlight one-off releases on a rolling basis. If a color doesn't clear testing on schedule, we'd rather hold it for the next drop than ship it early.
