Community Spotlight: Submit Your Filazoo Print for a Chance to Be Featured

Every month, we feature a customer print on our site and social channels. No contest entry fee, no prize requirement to make it worth submitting — just a chance to have your work seen and credited. Here's how to submit and what tends to catch our eye.

What "Featured" Actually Means

When we feature a print, three things happen:

• Your photo goes into the gallery section on the relevant product page, so future customers browsing that material can see real prints made with it.
• We repost it on Filazoo's Instagram, with credit to you by name or handle.
• The strongest submission each month gets a homepage banner spot for that month — the most visible placement we have.

How to Submit

1. Email your photos to community@filazoo.com, or
2. Tag @filazoo and use #FilazooMade on Instagram — we monitor the hashtag directly.
3. Include the material and color you printed with, and a short line about the project if you'd like it included in the feature.

You can submit as many prints as you'd like, whenever you'd like — there's no monthly submission limit on your end, only on how many we can feature.

What Makes a Submission Stand Out

Photo Quality

You don't need professional equipment. A few things make a bigger difference than most people expect:

• Natural light. Shoot near a window during the day rather than under indoor lighting — colors read much more accurately.
• A plain background. A neutral surface or wall keeps attention on the print instead of the clutter behind it.
• More than one angle. A straight-on shot plus one at a slight angle shows off detail and finish better than a single photo.

The Story

A short 2-3 sentence description goes a long way — what the print is, why you made it, and anything specific about the print settings or challenges you ran into. We're generally drawn to submissions where the maker clearly cared about the result, whether that's a technically difficult engineering part or a simple gift someone put real thought into.

The Kind of Print That Gets Featured

Rather than pointing to specific past winners, here's a general sense of what tends to make the cut: prints that are clearly finished and cared for (clean supports removed, sanded or painted if that's the style, no obvious print failures left in frame), prints that show some level of personalization or problem-solving rather than an unmodified stock model, and photos where the lighting and framing let the print actually speak for itself. Both decorative pieces and functional engineering parts get featured regularly — we're not favoring one category over the other.

Why We Do This

Product photos on a spec sheet only tell you so much. Seeing what someone actually built with a given material — a Silk PLA vase that catches light a certain way, an ASA bracket that's been holding up outdoors for months — tells a more honest story than anything we could write ourselves. That's the whole point of the gallery sections on our product pages: real results from real customers, not staged studio shots.
