Is PETG-CF stronger than standard PETG?
Carbon fiber increases stiffness and dimensional stability, so it resists bending better. But “stronger” depends on load direction, part orientation, and whether you mean stiffness, impact resistance, or layer strength — filled filaments are stiffer yet often more brittle. ABS-CF, ABS-GF, PETG-CF, and ASA-CF compared unpacks the trade-off properly.
Is a hardened nozzle required for PETG-CF?
Yes. Carbon fiber is abrasive and will wear out a standard brass nozzle fast — often within a single large print. Use hardened steel. Brass vs. hardened steel: choosing the right nozzle explains the rule and what worn-nozzle prints look like.
Does PETG-CF need an enclosure?
Normally optional, though one can help stabilize larger prints. Avoid excessive chamber temperatures — unlike ABS or ASA, PETG-CF doesn't want a hot chamber. Warping 101 explains which materials genuinely need enclosure heat.
Can PETG-CF be used in an automatic material system?
That depends on your system's approved materials, filament path, and spool dimensions. Only run abrasive filament in a system designed for fiber-reinforced materials — the wear affects the feed path, not just the nozzle.
